Meet the Baker

Hi, I’m Beth — the baker behind Beth’s Baking Hut.

I’m a proud mum to my kind-hearted son and step mum to my lovely, caring stepdaughter, and a lot of what I do is centred around family. Baking has been part of my life for years, starting with the first cake I ever made at 15 for my dad’s birthday. It wasn’t perfect, but it sparked something that’s stayed with me ever since.

Over the years, I’ve always made my son’s birthday cakes, as well as creating cakes for friends and colleagues. I also had the honour of making my mum’s wedding cake back in 2023 — a moment that meant so much to me. But it was the cake I made for my stepdaughter’s 4th birthday that really changed things — that was when I realised baking could be more than just a hobby.

Before this, my background was in agriculture, so it’s been a big shift from working outdoors every day to spending my time in the kitchen. But in many ways, the same values carry through — hard work, attention to detail, and pride in what you produce.

Now, everything I bake is made with that same care and intention — because for me, it’s never just about the cake, it’s about the moments it becomes part of.

About Beth's Baking Hut

Beth’s Baking Hut was officially registered with the council in September 2025, with preparations beginning shortly after. My fiancé gifted me a small shed, which I painted and decorated ready for opening day. On the 1st of November 2025, I officially opened my honesty cake hut for the first time.

What started as a simple idea to earn a little extra income quickly turned into something much bigger. Just two weeks before opening, I unexpectedly lost my job, and what was once a side project became my full focus. Since then, I’ve poured my heart and soul into growing the business into what it is today.

The original shed didn’t stay small for long — as the business grew, so did the space, and I now have a much larger cake hut to keep up with demand.

Alongside the hut, I also create custom cakes for birthdays, weddings and special occasions, as well as attending local markets and events. I’m proud to now supply a selection of my bakes to local cafés too, which has been a really rewarding part of growing the business.

All of my baking is done from my home kitchen, which was newly fitted in May 2025. While it works perfectly for now, my long-term dream is to have a dedicated studio kitchen — a space purely for baking and creating.

My Mission

Beth’s Baking Hut is about more than just baking cakes and traybakes — it’s about creating something meaningful within the local community. What began as a small self-service honesty hut has grown into a business built on passion, hard work, and the support of amazing customers.

As the business continues to grow, one of my biggest goals is to use baking as a way to help others. In the future, I would love to offer cake decorating classes and hands-on opportunities for young people who may be struggling to find their place in the working world, build confidence, or learn valuable life skills.

I also hope to create a welcoming space for anyone who may struggle with mental health, anxiety or loneliness. Baking can be incredibly therapeutic — giving people time to slow down, be creative, learn new skills and focus their minds in a positive way. Sometimes something as simple as baking alongside others can make a real difference.

Baking has always brought me comfort, creativity and happiness, and my dream is for Beth’s Baking Hut to eventually become more than just a bakery — a place where people feel supported, encouraged and inspired.

By supporting Beth’s Baking Hut — whether that’s visiting The Hut, ordering a cake, or sharing my business with others — you’re helping support a dream that goes far beyond baking alone.
